Boneyard Belts was started by two sisters who wanted a better way to accessorize their basics.
Why belts?
We grew up in uniforms, from accordion pleats in elementary school to herringbone in high school. In college, we created our own uniform: jeans with tee shirts accessorized with espadrilles and Wayfarers. Basic. Classic. Since then, our uniform has stayed the same, but we wanted more from our accessories. We felt it would be so simple to make our basics look better if we had cute statement belts, but couldn’t find any that excited us. That’s when we came up with Boneyard Belts.
It wasn’t an easy process to nail our vision, from sampling hundreds of different velvets and combing through thousands of embroidered fabric patterns, to molding the perfectly shaped buckle enhanced with our domino logo. But now, bettering our basics has never been so easy.
Why a domino?
Our mom and dad introduced us to the game when we were little, and they taught us to play to win. Here’s the strategy: make the best of the hand you’re dealt, and when there’s no working play, draw from the boneyard to find your winning piece. Our belts work in the same way.
